Why i use essential oils

I wrote this a couple of nights ago after putting my 3.5-year-old to bed…

Tonight my son was having trouble sleeping. Truth is, sleep has never been easy, but tonight he was complaining of a stuffy nose. Not extreme, but enough to bother him and make sleep further from reality. Blowing didn’t provide any relief, so I grabbed my Air/Breathe essential oil blend, rubbed a drop between my hands, and invited him to inhale from my cupped hands. Reluctant at first, he eventually took a breath and then several more. The first thing I noticed was that he was calmer just breathing from my hands. Breath has that effect, and so do essential oils. A powerful combination. When asked if it helped, he immediately shook his head, but then took another sniff and said, “Actually, yes!” Blowing was still unproductive afterwards, but the oils supported his body to open up enough space for some relief. Five minutes later he was asleep.

This is why I use essential oils and have these natural remedies on hand. No medications*, no crazy interventions. This was a no-brainer with nothing to lose. Mother Nature is amazing and I’m so thankful for her gifts.

*Medications have their place; I just prefer to use them only after underlying causes have been explored and there is no effective natural alternative.
